The Proposal

Picture

He surprised me while on a trip to Walt Disney World on October 16 2009. Both of our families went down for Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival. The first morning we were there, he told me on the way to the Magic Kingdom that his friend from work asked him to find his families brick (at Disney, you could buy a brick with your family name on it) so he took me down the walkway right near the entrance to the Magic Kingdom that looks as if it leads to the Grand Floridian Resort, but doesn't - instead it is a dead end walkway. I was actually mad b/c I didn't want to walk all the way down the path for someone he barely knew - but went with him. I was complaining along the way... when we got to the end of the path, he revealed that there was no brick and instead got on his knee and proposed! Just as he was proposing, the orange monorail stopped just short of it's Magic Kingdom loading station - almost like it was planned. It was the best moment of my life! Immediately after, we walked back to both of our families at the end of the path - I ran to my mom and dad (crying) and jumped on them to hug them! It was absolutely perfect!

The Rings

Picture
My ring is a stunning 1c princess cut diamond set on the Art Carved "Willow" band with pave diamond around the band as well as pave diamonds set in a v along the front and back of the center stone. The picture doesn't even begin to do justice to how beautiful it is in person!

We have not yet bought our wedding bands, but I found the one that I want. It is a white gold band with pave diamonds along the top and sides of the band (similar to the picture below). It compliments my e-ring but doesn't overpower it. I am going to wait a couple more months and then purchase it! Ryan wants a white gold or platinum band. He is still debating whether to get a plain band or some detail (like lines etc.) on it - he cant decide between polished or brushed. We are going to purchase the bands from the same jewelry store that Ryan bought my e-ring.

**UPDATE** We just bought our wedding bands!! I ended up going with an Art Carved band (same brand/designer but not the exact match to my e-ring) with pave diamonds along the top and sides! It is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't be more happy with it!! Ry ended up going with a Cobalt Metal band with a small detail along the sides (see below). He went with Cobalt b/c the jeweler said that it is a VERY strong metal and will hold up without knicks or scratches, as Ryan uses his hands quite a bit in his line of work. We are SO excited!!
